Meet Mr. Oleksyn

Dear families,

My name is Alexander Oleksyn and I am the art teacher at Mott Hall High School. I was born in Vienna, Austria and grew up in Europe and Asia, and the United States. I received my Bachelor’s of Fine Art from the Tyler School of Art, Temple University, my Master’s of Fine Art from the Glasgow School of Art and my Teaching Certificate in Teaching Visual Art from Brooklyn College.

I believe art is an essential part of any curriculum that aims to prepare students for the challenges they will invariably encounter, while also helping them engage with the beauty within and around them. It is a privilege working with the students in this school as they explore their interests and beliefs, take pride in their identity, and develop their creativity and critical thinking skills.

As a teacher at Mott Hall High School, I teach Art 1, Art 2 and Crew. Please click on the hyperlinks to see an overview of what is taught.

If you would like to get in touch, please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected].

Sincerely,

Mr. O
